North American Muslim Powwow

The North American Muslim Powwow, first held in 1993, was an event that brought together Muslims of diverse backgrounds to increase trust, understanding, relationships and the strength of our common voice.

'Powwow', a native Algonquin word, was used to set the tone and intention of the meeting: as a conference, a council meeting, a caucus, a time to hear each other out.
