The Dar al Islam Campus is located across the Chama River from the historic village of Abiquiu, about 25 miles from Espanola and about 60 miles from Santa Fe in the south. At 6000 foot elevation, the area has four distinct tempered seasons. Winter days are mostly dry, sunny and brisk and nights are much cooler and sometimes freezing. Early Spring days are arid, windy with dust swirls. Late Spring is usually pleasant and calm. Summer is warm in the morning and hot in the afternoon, with occasional thunderstorms.
